Zac Set for a busy night at Opening night 2016

South Auckland-based reinsman, and one of Alexandra Park's best – Zac Butcher – will drive in nine of the 10 races at Alexandra Park on Friday night.

The 24-year-old has a nice book of drives and rated 2-year-old Courage Under Fire colt Spring Campaign as the strongest of his chances in the last event.

Butcher made the following comments about each horse and then ranked them out of five:

Race 1: LADY MADONNA (3) – "She is training well and is improving with every race. There's a couple of nice ones in this race but we are all starting from fresh and I think this filly is up to them, especially from the kind draw. I'd rate her a 3.5 out of 5."

Race 2 ARRANALEA (1) – "She's a handy wee filly and has quick speed but she must do things right. If I knew she was going to step I'd rate her more than the 3 out of 5 I'm obliged to giving her."

- "He's a nice horse. I've got a lot of time for him. He hasn't put things together but when he does he will win. He's now on the unruly which will help him heaps. If he trots – 4."

Race 5: IDEAL EAGLE (2)
– "She felt good when winning at Cambridge last start but this is a big step up in class and she is now up against some very nice horses capable of running quick times. For that reason a 2 out of 5."

Race 6: IDEAL QUEST (5)
– "She's been racing well and trialled well on Saturday. I got back in the running with her last start and will be looking for the top this time. This isn't an easy race though and I think Jo's Dream will be the toughest to beat. 2.5 out of 5."

– "I'm lucky to get the drive on this fella and I'm grateful to Josh (Dickie) for the opportunity again. If he can step he's a chance in this but he will have to do things right. 3 out of 5."

– "She has been racing well and has won her last two starts by doing a bit of work. This is a big step up for her and she would need a bit of luck to figure here. She will need the right trip. 2 out of 5."

Race 9: VIVACIOUS MADONNA (2) – "I don't know a lot about this one but the draw certainly helps a lot. Mike (Berger) will have her spot on for this. 3 out of 5."

Race 10: SPRING CAMPAIGN (3) – "I have got a lot of time for this colt. He went real well for second on debut at Alexandra Park in November. He possesses a lot of speed and I'd rate him my best drive of the night. He still has to do things right and he will be better with this run under his belt, but he is smart and that's why I rate him a 4.5."
